When planning your holiday on Korcula, beaches are one of the first things to research. Here are some of our suggestions:
Beach of the house
One of the most popular option that pops up when searching for Korcula beaches are the concrete slabs beaches that are located on the shoreline under the first row apartments. Built for accessing the sea from the house, these beaches are great for having a morning coffee directly by the seaside or jumping off the beach and having a swim in a clear blue sea.
Bigger concrete slabs beaches are also located in the town centers and they are a very popular option as well – you will find them in the Korcula town center, Vela Luka, Lumbarda, Prizba, Prigradica, Brna, Zavalatica etc.
Pebble beaches Korcula
One of the most notable feature are the pebble beaches on Korcula. Round stones being shaped throughout the centuries by the force of the sea created these specific beaches and being on them is one of the most memorable experiences of staying on the island of Korcula.
Some of the most popular pebble beaches on Korcula are Pupnatska Luka, Bačva, Žitna and the beaches on the island of Proizd (Proizd beaches were once nominated as the best beaches in Croatia).
Some pebble beaches are combined with gravel to make them more suitable to walk on. An example is the pebble beach in Prizba:
Hidden pebble beaches on Korcula are a true gem. Once you put some effort in reaching them, the experience is unforgettable. We suggest to check out the shoreline on the south-eastern part of the island, from Zavalatica to Lumbarda. Pupnatska Luka and Bačva are situated in that area, but we suggest to invest some more time in using the map and planning the route – you’d be surprised to find out how many other beaches are there to explore. Bear in mind that these beaches are often in a quite inaccessible area and at they can often be reached only on foot by a narrow path from the nearest macadam or asphalt road.

Sandy beach Korcula
There is only one sandy beach on the island of Korcula, but it’s totally worth to check it out: Pržina in Lumbarda. With a large parking space, a couple of bars, fast food venues, volleyball court and other things to do this place is great for having fun and having a great swim when staying on Korcula.
